Efforts to provide KCC benefits to all Birsa farmers of the state – Abu Bakr Siddiqui

Ranchi: With the efforts of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Agriculture Minister Badal efforts are being made to cover the farmers of the state with a Kisan Credit Card. In the last two months, a special camp has been organized for Kisan Credit Card and from June 23, the camp is being organized at the block level. This information was given by the Secretary, of Agriculture Department Abu Bakr Siddiqui while addressing the press at Nepal House.

Siddiqui said that 15 lakh farmers out of the farmers listed under PM Kisan Yojana by the state government have been covered by KCC so far, KCC has to be made available to all the remaining Birsa farmers. In this connection from June 8 the first KCC camp has been organized and on June 23, the mega camp is to be done in all the blocks through a special campaign 9 lakh applications have been deposited in the banks, which are under process, so far four Lakhs of applications have been approved. He said that the KCC camp would be organized at the block level, in which the officers of all the banks including the officers of the Agriculture Department would also be present.

Secretary Agriculture Department said that on the coming June 23, Chief Minister Hemant Soren would start the divisional mega camp in Latehar in which the beneficiaries of Palamu Garhwa and Latehar would be included.

At the same time, he has appealed to all the public representatives and especially in the three-tier panchayat elections, requested the newly elected public representatives to cooperate in implementing the schemes of the Agriculture Department in their area to make the farmers financially prosperous and focus on those schemes.

“If we pay attention, we can play an important role in the field of agriculture,” he said adding that a 6 percent interest rebate is being given by the Central and State Governments to the farmers who make timely payments, which can be availed by the farmers. SLBC DGM Subodh Kumar, who was present in the press conference, informed that a large number of KCC cards have also been given in the mega camp and those who are deprived farmers will also be given the benefit of KCC cards.
