Ranchi: Various tribal organizations of Jharkhand took out a protest march on Wednesday against the implication of former CM Hemant Soren in a conspiracy. The effect of which was seen in many major areas of Ranchi. Roads remained blocked for hours in Lalpur, Main Road and Ratu Road of the capital. Due to which vehicles also kept crawling on the roads.
The common people had to face a lot of problems due to road blockage. During this period, efforts made by the traffic police at every level failed. Due to traffic jams in various areas of the city, people’s time was not only wasted but the business of the concerned area was also affected. Due to jam in Lalpur, Main Road and Ratu Road, it took more than half an hour to complete the journey of one kilometre.
During this time, long queues of vehicles were seen on both sides of the road. Due to road jams, people going for important work had to face a lot of trouble. Those who had trains or flights in the afternoon also faced a lot of trouble.
At many places even ambulances remained stuck in traffic jams for hours. In Ranchi, RTO has given permission to run 5320 autos. But around 15000 autos are running illegally here. There is the only New Market stand for autos in the city. Whereas, more than 25 avoid auto stands have been built at every intersection of the city.
On the other hand, 4500 e-rickshaws are registered with the Municipal Corporation, while 4000 e-rickshaws are running illegally. There are already footpaths and encroachments and this is also the reason why there are constant traffic jams in the capital.
