Education Minister says mistake in examination calendar, fresh dates for 10th and 12 exams to be announced soon

Ranchi: Jharkhand’s Education Minister has indicated that there will be changes in the examination schedule of the 10th and 12th to be conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council. He said that there has been some mistake in the examination calendar and soon the mistake will be rectified.

The issue came out on the day when the festival of Sarhul will be observed in the state on that very day the exams of the 10th and 12th boards were scheduled and the students, teachers as well as parents were in confusion. 

When the matter was brought to the notice of the minister he said that some mistakes has been made which will be corrected and by one day each the schedule of the 10th and 12 board exams will be moved forward by one day and soon the new dates will be announced.

As per the previous schedule declared by JAC on March 24 examination of Maths for the 10th board and Psychology Geography and Business Study for the 12th board are to be held. The JAC is likely to soon come out with a fresh date sheet.

As per the previous schedule, the inter and matric examinations to be conducted by JAC were scheduled to commence from March 24 in which nearly 8 lakh students are likely to appear. The number of candidates in matric is 4.50 lakh while that in the intermediate is around 3.50 lakh.

In wake of a large number of candidates, JAC has set examination centers at the block while that of the intermediate is at the sub-division level. The exams of matric will be held in the first sitting while that of intermediate in the second sitting.

This time the exams will be held in a changed pattern and exams will be conducted in both OMR Sheets and answer sheets both having 40 -40 marks each while another 10 marks will be for internal assessment.
