ED to interrogate Sahibganj SP Naushad Alam on Tuesday

Ranchi:  Sahibganj SP Naushad Alam will be interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday. Earlier on November 22, ED had asked SP Naushad Alam to appear for questioning. But SP Naushad Alam had sent a letter to ED asking for another date for his appearance. After which the ED sent a second summons to Naushad Alam on 22nd November and asked him to appear for questioning on 28th November.

Naushad Alam had written to ED saying that he had sought suggestions regarding the case from the police headquarters. In such a situation, they should be given a few days’ time and another date should be fixed for questioning. Naushad Alam had reached Ranchi to go to the zonal office of ED.

Before going to the ED office, Naushad Alam went to Jharkhand Police Headquarters and informed the officials about the entire case and also showed the documents he had taken with him to the officials. According to the information, Naushad Alam, who was an ED witness, has denied any wrongful role in the Vijay Hansda case. Police Headquarters has been told by Naushad Alam that Sahibganj Police had provided bodyguards to Vijay Hansda after the instructions of the court. When Naushad Alam took charge as Sahibganj SP, Vijay Hansda had applied in the Supreme Court to go to Delhi with a bodyguard in connection with a case.

Since the day on which Vijay had to go to Delhi was Sunday, a railway warrant could not be obtained, keeping in view the security, on the orders of Dumka DIG, Vijay was allowed to go to Delhi with a bodyguard. During this, the bodyguard expressed his inability to go without a railway warrant and asked SP Sahibganj to get the ticket confirmed, after which Naushad Alam in Ranchi called and asked the sergeant to get the ticket.

SP Naushad Alam is accused of arranging a ticket for Vijay Hansda, an ED witness in the illegal mining case, to go to Delhi. ED had sent summons on November 10 and directed SP Naushad Alam to appear at the regional office in Hinnu, Ranchi on November 22 for questioning. He is accused of instigating Vijay Hansda, a witness of illegal mining in Sahibganj. Besides, he is also accused of arranging a ticket to send him to Delhi in the Pankaj Mishra vs Vijay Hansda case. ED had found in the investigation that Vijay Hansda had to go to Delhi to present his side in the case going on in the Supreme Court.
