Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent summons to Rural Development Department Minister Alamgir Alam. He has to appear in the ED office on May 14. The Central Investigation Agency has asked him to come to the regional office in Hinnu at 11 am.
In the tender commission case, ED had raided the house of Alamgir Alam’s personal secretary Sanjeev Lal and others on May 7. During this time, about Rs 35 crore cash was recovered from Sanjeev Lal’s assistant Jahangir. After which ED arrested Sanjeev Lal and his assistant Jahangir. At present, both are on remand with ED.
Alamgir Alam (70) has been asked to appear at the ED zonal office in Ranchi on Tuesday, May 14, to record his statement under PMLA. The money laundering investigation relates to alleged irregularities in the Rural Development Department.
On Monday, Enforcement Directorate (ED) teams raided 6 places in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. ED has received more than Rs 30 crore in cash so far. The houses of Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam’s personal secretary (PS) Sanjeev Lal’s servant Jahangir, PS’s close contractor Munna Singh, Road Construction Department engineer Vikas Kumar and Kuldeep Minj were raided.
