ED Remand of Pooja Singhal extended by five days, CA Suman Kumar sent to Hotwar Jail

Ranchi: A special ED court on Friday extended the remand of IAS Pooja Singhal arrested in connection with a money laundering case by five days. On the other hand, her CA Suman Kumar was sent to the Hotwar Jail following the directions of the court. Earlier upon completion of their remand, the duo were presented before the court.

The earlier remand of both of them was extended by four days. ED had arrested Pooja Singhal on May 11 in connection with money laundering and during the course of an investigation, it has recovered important proofs of the financial irregularities committed by her. In the court, the ED had sought six days of remand for the officer but the court gave only five days.

On a previous occasion when ED had sought nine days of remand for Pooja Singhal at that time also the court had given four days of remand of the officer and her to the ED. In this case, so far husband of Pooja Singhal, Abhishek Jha, his father, former JMM treasurer Ravi Kejriwal and district mining officers of three districts have been questioned.
