ED recovered cash during investigation at secretariat regarding Minister Alamgir’s PS Money Laundering Case

Ranchi: Ranchi Minister Alamgir Alam’s PS Sanjeev Lal and his assistant Jahangir Alam were produced in the court after being arrested. The court has sent both of them on remand for six days. The ED team has reached the secretariat with Sanjeev Lal. The documents are being scrutinized in the room of the Rural Development Department in the FPP building where Sanjeev Lal used to sit. About two lakh cash has been found from Sanjeev Lal’s office.

Some officials including ED Joint Director Kapil Raj have left the secretariat. However, other officers are present and going through the papers. Except for secretariat employees, anyone else has been barred from entering the building. During the search of the office, three bundles of rupees five hundred each were found in the drawer of Sanjeev Lal’s office. Search is going on in the chamber. The team is examining the documents there also. No one has been allowed to come and go here.

Along with this, information is being received that the process of suspending PS Sanjeev Lal has been started. The Personnel Department has increased the file related to the action. As soon as CM Champai Soren’s consent is received, a letter regarding his suspension will be issued.

Sanjeev Lal is an officer of Jharkhand Administrative Service. Many important information is coming to light after cash worth crores of rupees was recovered in the raid of Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Ranchi. The entire Rural Development Department is engaged in money transaction matters. The minister of this department is Alamgir Alam.

In the department, commission of up to 15 percent was fixed on rural development schemes. Not only this, a system was working from collection to distribution of commission. ED has given all this information to the Special Court in its remand petition. Based on the raid conducted on Monday and the information received, ED also conducted raids on Tuesday. This raid was conducted at four places.

Out of which Rs 1.50 crore was recovered from the residence of contractor Rajeev Singh in Singhmod and Rs 2.5 lakh was recovered from the residence of Sanjay Munda, brother of Rural Development Department Assistant Engineer Ajay Munda. ED also got hold of many documents in Tuesday’s raid. A complete system of recovery was in place in the Rural Development Department. This system remained active from the time the file was created until recovery.

ED has given this information in the petition. The court has said that Sanjeev Lal collects commission money by managing tenders for development schemes. Contractors and engineers assist him in this. After this, it was the responsibility of Jahangir Alam to handle the recovered money. Jahangir was given money to handle it. Because he had a very good relationship with Sanjeev Lal. This also came to light when ED seized two vehicles from Sanjeev Lal’s house.

Both the vehicles are registered in the name of Jahangir. During interrogation, Jahangir also informed ED about this. Sanjeev Lal had given the money for one of the two vehicles.
