ED notice to JBVNL, asked – in whose name is the meter installed on Badagai land

Ranchi: ED has sent a notice to Jharkhand State Electricity Distribution Corporation. After receiving the ED notice, there was a stir at the Electricity Board headquarters. ED has wanted to know from the officials of the Electricity Distribution Corporation that the land in Bargai in which two meters are installed, in whose name those meters are allotted. It has been asked to reply as soon as possible.

The Distribution Corporation has forwarded this letter to Ranchi GM for ED’s reply. After this the GM has asked his junior officers to provide complete details. Whenever a new electricity connection is given, a photocopy of the land paper of the house and the holding number also has to be attached with the application for the new connection.

According to the information, ED wants to get to the bottom of the land scam case. ED wants to know in whose name the meter has been allotted. At present, the officials of the Distribution Corporation have not yet provided its details to the ED. ED has so far seized immovable property worth Rs 236 crore in the land scam. Earlier, ED had temporarily attached two lands worth crores of rupees, whose market value was Rs 74.39 crore. These properties include 4.55 acres of land used by the army in Bariatu Mauza, whose market value was Rs 41.51 crore and 7.16 acres of land in Bajra Mauza, whose market value was Rs 32.87 crore.

ED had searched 41 places and conducted 5 surveys in the land fraud case. During this period, fake seals of the Revenue Department, fake land documents, and records of money transactions, fraudulent photographs, evidence of bribe giving and much other information were seized. A dozen accused are in jail in the same land fraud case. This includes former Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan, Pradeep Bagchi, Afsar Ali, Saddam Hussain, Imtiaz Ahmed, Talha Khan, Faiyaz Khan, Bhanu Pratap Prasad, Dilip Kumar Ghosh, and Amit Kumar Aggarwal.

Rajesh Rai, Bharat Prasad and Prem Prakash are also in jail. Former CM Hemant Soren is also in judicial custody.
