E-pass must from Sunday for commuters and others, health workers exempted

 

Ranchi: As a new set of restrictions are all set to come into force from Sunday onwards as part of the health safety week e-pass will be mandatory for people stepping out of their homes for different works.

As per the orders issued by Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh dated May 12, for the fresh set of restrictions which will be coming into effect from May 16, 6 am to May 27, 6 am arrangements of e-pass has been made which can be downloaded free of cost from epassjharkhand.nic.in.

While applying for e-pass all information being furnished by the applicant on the site should be correct. The fast will be issued in four categories including going outside Jharkhand, outside the district but within Jharkhand, within the district boundary and coming inside Jharkhand.

Keeping in mind the requirements of the citizens the e-pass has been divided into different categories. However, for PDS dealers, owner, an employee of shops selling vegetables, grocery, food grains, milk, sweets eatables, construction related items, agriculture items, the buyer of permitted goods passes till May 27 will have timing restrictions of 6 AM to 3 PM.

On the other hand, for owners and employees of petrol pump LPG CNG outlets, hotels, restaurants and dhaba, persons providing transportation logistics warehousing services, people engaged in mining construction and industry, owner of vehicle repair shops, government employee, electricity, water supply, municipal and telecom services, media, courier, security services till up to May 27 passes will be issued but there will be no time limit.

For the purpose of marriage last rites and air and related travels one day passes will be issued.

However, Health Care workers have been exempted from the passes and their photo identity cards would allow them to commute. The entire process of issuing the e-pass is free of cost and there is no need to visit the transport office. In case any information given by the applicant is found to be incorrect then legal action can be taken against them.
