Ranchi: Students of E Kalyan Scholarship staged a protest outside Jharkhand Project Bhawan in Ranchi on Monday. Students are angry over not receiving a post matric scholarship amount for the last ten months. This includes undergraduate, postgraduate, engineering and other courses.
Students told that they are making rounds of the offices of district and state level officials for payment of scholarship amount. Everyone has only given assurances. Nobody solved it. He further said that we met Ranchi District Welfare Officer and Welfare Commissioner several times. We expressed our views several times, but every time they kept giving us assurance.
Students told that Welfare Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha has given time till March 4. Full payment of scholarship amount will be made to everyone by March 4. The scholarship amount of some students has been paid. Payment of some students is still pending.
E-Kalyan Scholarship given by Jharkhand Government has become less help and more trouble for the students. Students have been agitating for the last ten months. Students from all the districts of Jharkhand have surrounded Kalyan Complex many times. He was given only assurances several times, but the problem was not resolved.
Students of Ranchi district have also surrounded the office of the District Welfare Officer. Officials from district to state level have only given them assurances.
