Dumri bypoll, All polling stations to be
monitored by the Election Commission through
webcasting voting from 7 am to 5 pm

Ranchi. Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand Ravi Kumar said that all necessary measures are being taken by the Election Department to conduct peaceful, clean and fearless polling in the Dumri assembly constituency. He said that a positive role of political parties is also expected in this direction. 

He informed that transparency is being ensured with the help of modern techniques for fair polling. Through webcasting, all the polling stations will be monitored by the Election Commission of India at the central, state and district levels. Apart from this, a camera will also be installed outside the polling stations, so that the activities happening in the polling premises can also be monitored.

He was addressing a meeting organised with representatives of all recognized political parties in the auditorium of his office at Dhurwa on Tuesday. In the meeting, the representatives of all the major political parties were apprised of the instructions of the Election Commission of India for the Dumri Assembly elections. 

The Chief Electoral Officer said that elaborate security arrangements have been made in Dumri assembly constituency for voting and counting. Told that the time for voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, September 5.

The counting of votes is scheduled on September 8 from 8 am in the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee located at Pachambha in Giridih. A total of 24 rounds of counting are to be done on 16 counting tables for the counting of votes. 

The Chief Electoral Officer said that any election including the results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey in any electronic media shall be published during the 48 hours ending at the time fixed for the conclusion of poll in the entire polling area of this bye-election. There will be a ban on the display of the related matter.

He said that office bearers of political parties who are not voters of the concerned assembly constituency should not stay in that area during this period. He informed that polling day has been declared as dry day in Giridih and Bokaro districts.

On this occasion, OSD of Chief Electoral Officer’s office Mrs. Geeta Choubey, Under Secretary Mr. Devdas Dutta, Deputy Electoral Officer Headquarters Mr. Sanjay Kumar and representatives of all major recognized political parties were present.
