Due to wrong policies of Centre petrol prices has reached in three digits: Rameshwar Oraon

Ranchi, Feb 17 : Jharkhand Congress Chief and Finance Minister Dr Rameshwar Oraon on Wednesday said that due to the wrong policies of the central government the prices of petrol has reached the three digit mark.

He said that if one looks at the rate of the crude oil in the international market than in the country the prices of petrol and diesel should be between Rs 40 to Rs 42. Further he said that after the implementation of GST the state governments have been left with only two options to increase revenue collection which includes VAT and other is excise tax.

Dr Oraon claimed that after implementation of one tax regime the centre had promised to give 14 percent as compensation but is now sometimes talking about giving the core money.

He said that Centre was free to print currency notes as per its requirements but the state government needed to make payment for various social security schemes including old age, widow and Divyang pension for which money is needed.

To a query, he said that those who are raising objections towards budgetary allocations not being spent during this fiscal he said that people needed to understand that the entire year went in fighting Coronavirus as the government wanted to save the people.

Over the comments of Ramdas Athawale Dr Oraon said that his comments will not have any impact on the health of the state government. He said that Athawale was a political tomato who for the lust of power keeps on switching sides.

On the issue of ration cards he said that so far two lakh people have surrendered their ration cards and warned of action against those who have taken ration cards illegally.
