Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has announced the publication of the draft voter list for Ghatshila assembly constituency, following a notification issued by the Jharkhand government regarding a vacancy in the 45th assembly seat. According to the Election Commission of India’s guidelines, a by-election must be held within six months of the notification.

The draft voter list has been published at all polling stations in Ghatshila, as well as offices of AERO, ERO, and DEO. Both hard and soft copies (PDF) of the list have been provided to recognized political parties. Speaking to the media at the Election House on Tuesday, Ravi Kumar said the voter list revision process involved rationalizing polling stations with over 1,200 voters, increasing the total number of polling stations in the constituency to 300. Meetings with political parties and other formal procedures have been completed.

The draft voter list publication began on September 2, 2025, and claims or objections can be submitted until September 17, 2025. Voters may submit Form-6 to add names, Form-7 to delete names, and Form-8 to request corrections. The final voter list will be published on September 29, 2025.

Ravi Kumar urged all eligible citizens of Ghatshila to verify their names on the voter list and submit the necessary forms if their names are missing, ensuring participation in the upcoming by-election.
