Ranchi : A meeting of the District Task Force for the success of the National MDA (Filaria) Program-2024 was organized by Deputy Development Commissioner Ranchi Dinesh Kumar Yadav in the auditorium located at Collectorate Block-A.
In the meeting, Civil Surgeon (Sadar) Ranchi, Dr. Prabhat Kumar, District Public Relations Officer Ranchi, Dr. Prabhat Shankar, District Social Welfare Officer Ranchi, Surabhi Singh, District too. V.D. Officer, Block Medical Officer, District Tuberculosis Officer, District Leprosy Prevention Officer Ranchi, Block Social Welfare Officer, Block Education Officer, P.C. I. Piramal Foundation, F. l. A. And also the district.
V.D. Advisor and concerned officials were present. Mass Drug Administration Program for eradication of filariasis is being celebrated in the district from 10th February to 25th February 2024. This program will eradicate filariasis disease in all 53 wards of Ranchi urban area including all the community health centers (except Angada, Bedo, Budhmu and Tamar).
D.E.C. for rescue And Albedazole medicine is to be administered to 2580373 people. Do not take this medicine on an empty stomach. Pregnant women, children below 02 years and extremely seriously ill people should not be given this medicine.
This medicine is to be administered at the booth on 10 February 2024. This medicine will be administered at a total of 2304 booths in all Anganwadi centres, health sub-centres, wards, offices, schools and public buildings. There are 275 supervisors for this.
From 11th February 2024 to 25th February 2024, medicine is to be administered door to door. Filaria is a vector-borne disease that is incurable and causes great disability. It is spread by the bite of infected female Culex which thrive in dirty water. This is not a fatal disease but it causes deformities in the body. Therefore, to prevent this disease, M.D.A. All persons are required to take medicine during the program.
In Ranchi district, Mass Drug Administration-2024 program is scheduled from 10 February to 25 February 2024 in all 53 wards of Ranchi urban area including 10 community health centres. A total of 2580373 population (except pregnant women, children below 2 years and extremely seriously ill persons) are to be administered DEC and Albendazole medicines.
Medicines will be distributed through booths in all Anganwadi centers, schools, colleges and public buildings on 10.02.24 and to the remaining population by door-to-door health workers from 11.02.24 to 25.02.24. Medicines will be administered by 4608 DAs at a total of 2304 booths. 275 supervisors will also be active to make the campaign successful. Piramal Foundation, WHO, PCI organization are cooperating in this work.

Therefore, to prevent this disease, it is necessary for all people to take medicine during the MDA program. Deputy Development Commissioner, Ranchi Dinesh Kumar Yadav, while giving instructions to all the concerned officers, said that by successfully completing the Mass Drug Administration-2024 in Ranchi district from 10th February to 25th February 2024, it should be made successful by giving maximum publicity.
