District sports officials to be appointed by JPSC: Bauri

 

Ranchi, May 15: State’s Sports Youth Affairs and Tourism Minister Amar Kumar Bauri said that all process regarding recruitment of district sports officers has been completed and soon the JPSC would be issuing an advertisement in this regard.

 

Addressing a press conference after chairing a meeting with the DSOs here he said that sports have a special identity in Jharkhand and to maintain it all people should work honestly as the government is working with the aim that a player from the state win the Olympic gold in 2024 for which there was a need to establish coordination among all the departments and moreover the players would also need proper guidance and training.

 

The minister said that the state government was providing all possible help to the players despite that the players of national and international level are living in poor conditions. He asked the DSOs to prepare a list of such players as the state government was preparing a pension schemes for the former players and also asked them to identify land for play ground in every panchayat. Bauri said that the players and the teams which would be performing better would be sent to other states and also abroad for training.

 

Mr Bauri stressed on the need to strengthen the Kamal Clubs and asked the DSO s to provide kits as per teh choice of sporst of the people. He also asked to organise tournament to promote football and said that at first panchayat level teams should be prepared for boys and girls and the same model be repeated at block, district and state levels. He said that the sports university had commenced in the state in which 178 students had been selected for the first batch. He said that there was need to encourage the youth to take up sports.
