District Judge Appointment case, Supreme Court cancels Jharkhand High Court’s decision

Ranchi:  The Supreme Court has cancelled the decision of the Jharkhand High Court in the matter of appointment to the vacant posts of District Judge. Besides, orders have also been given for appointment to nine vacant posts.

This case was heard in the court of Supreme Court judge Justice Aniruddha Bose. In which the court gave this decision in the case of Sushil Kumar Pandey and others. 

Earlier the High Court had issued merit list for 13 out of 22 posts and recommended appointment. Nine posts were left vacant in this. This matter is related to the appointment of 22 district judges in the year 2022.

Jharkhand High Court had started the appointment process for appointment to 22 posts under the Jharkhand Superior Judicial Service Cadre. In the middle of the appointment process, the High Court had made changes. A challenge was made in the court. After the hearing of the case was completed, the Supreme Court had reserved its decision.
