DGP conducted a meeting of top police officers of five states for the fair and peaceful Lok Sabha Elections

Ranchi: Top police officers of five states including Jharkhand held a meeting on Monday to ensure fair and peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha elections. This meeting was held at Jharkhand Police Headquarters under the chairmanship of Jharkhand DGP Ajay Kumar Singh. Top police officers from the border states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar participated in this meeting.

DGP Ajay Kumar Singh said that a meeting was held today on the instructions of the Election Commission of India. We discussed the points which can affect the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with five Border States – Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh.  Bihar and West Bengal and we made a roadmap for mutual cooperation and what will happen next. We have a central control room, nodal officers, and everything that is required for free and fair elections is in place.

The DGP said that points were discussed which could affect the Lok Sabha elections. During this time a road map was made regarding security arrangements. There is a central control room for this. There are all the facilities necessary for fair and peaceful Lok Sabha elections. During this, every aspect from security point of view was discussed.

Brainstorming was held regarding strictness on the border including Naxalites, criminals, warranty, and security at checkpoints. Emphasis was laid on keeping a strict vigil in the border areas of the Border States, so that unwanted elements cannot create disturbances during the elections. These can be dealt with strictly.
