Ranchi: The Ranchi district administration has commenced its preparations to set up a dedicated Covid ward for the children as part of which DC Chhavi Ranjan on Tuesday visited the Sadar Hospital and Ranchi Children Hospital alongwith other senior officers.
The DC with his team first reached the Ranchi Children Hospital and had a look at the arrangements for treatment of children at the hospital. He had a look at the ICU, ICCU and SDCU and also the Covid ward. He collected information regarding the equipments and other amenities present for the treatment of the children.
The DC also collected information regarding the CPAP being used for the treatment of children. He asked the doctors regarding under what circumstances the CPAP can be used, installation etc and directed the Civil Surgeon to make arrangements for the same at the Sadar Hospital.
Later he visited the Sadar Hospital and had a look at the facilities to set up a dedicated Covid ward for the children. He visited the different floors of the hospital and asked the Civil Suregon to take necessary steps to prepare the infrastructure for building the dedicated ward for the children.
The DC said that some vacant space is available at the Hospital and the Civil Surgeon has been asked to prepare a 40-60 bed dedicated Covid ward for the children. He said that for the children ward arrangements of oxygen supported beds, ICU, pipeline supported oxygen beds should be made.
For the dedicated children Covid ward there will be a need for skilled nurses in ICU and dedicated ward for which nurses will be provided training in coordination with doctors of Rani Children Hospital.
The DC during his visit to the hospital interacted with the nurses and technicians and encourage them for their good work.
