Deoghar: A review meeting of various welfare and development schemes being implemented by the Welfare Department was held on Monday at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of schemes, budget allocation and expenditure. The DC directed officials to ensure that the benefits of all government schemes reach every eligible beneficiary at the grassroots level.
Reviewing the implementation status of various schemes, the DC stressed the need for better coordination among district, block and panchayat-level officials. He reviewed the functioning of welfare hostels, fencing work at Jahersthan sites, construction of Manjhi Bhawans, and the allocation and expenditure related to pre-matric and post-matric scholarship schemes. Necessary instructions were issued to the concerned officials for timely completion of all pending works.
The DC also reviewed the block-wise progress of the bicycle distribution scheme and instructed officials to ensure 100 percent distribution among eligible students. While reviewing the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme and the Chief Minister Health Assistance Scheme, he directed officials to make sure that all deserving beneficiaries receive benefits without delay.
Emphasising awareness about welfare initiatives, the DC instructed officials to widely publicise the Chief Minister Health Assistance Scheme so that more needy people can avail themselves of medical support on time. He also directed Block Welfare Officers to maintain close coordination with the Health Department for smooth implementation of the scheme.
Officials were further instructed to conduct regular field visits and organise meetings in villages to understand the actual needs of rural residents, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare.
Considering the rising temperatures, the DC directed officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply in rural areas. He also stressed the need for awareness campaigns against social evils like child marriage and instructed officials to maintain strict vigilance over such cases. In addition, officials were asked to closely monitor the issues faced by PVTG communities and ensure their timely resolution.
The meeting was attended by DDC Piyush Sinha, District Welfare Officer Dayanand Dubey, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar, Block Welfare Officers from all blocks, along with other officials and employees of the Welfare Department.
