Daughters of Jharkhand matter of pride, Govt committed to give wings to their dreams: Chief Minister

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that daughters of the state were a matter of pride for everyone and his government was committed to giving wings to their dreams.

While interacting with the girls who have been selected from the state to national squad of the country for the U-17 football world cup 2021 he said that daughters have shown great patience and courage amid the Coronavirus crisis. He assured the girls that all the necessary facilities would be provided to them so that they can make a name for the state as well as the country while playing the world cup.

The Chief Minister said that there was no dearth of talented players in the state and despite the limited resources the players have made a name for themselves and the state. He said that the state government would further encourage the sports and was preparing the sports policy which will be beneficial to the current, future and former players.

Poornima who is one of the players thanked the Chief Minister for the care provided to them during the Coronavirus crisis. She said that due to pandemic their training was impacted in Goa as food also had become an issue not now they were getting proper training.

A total of 8 players have been selected from Jharkhand in the national squad for the U 17 world cup which is slated in February-March 2921. The sports department has given football kits to these girls while UNICEF has provided them with T-shirts.

Those present on the occasion included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajeev Arun Ekka,  Sports Secretary Pooja Singhal and others.
