Ranchi: The Coronavirus tally in the state on Thursday crossed the 7,000 mark as a total 403 fresh cases of Covid-19 were detected across 19 districts following which the overall tally of Coronavirus patients stands at 7,166.
It is for the second consecutive in the state that the number of cases detected in a single day has crossed the 400 mark.
During the day 2 deaths were also reported in the state from East Singhbhum district after which the overall death count has gone up to 67 in the state.
As per the data provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 3,845 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 3,254. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 67.
During the day a maximum number of 198 cases were reported in the Ranchi district followed by 32 in Koderma district while 29 cases were found in East Singhbhum, 26 in Ramgarh and 22 in Palamu districts.
In Dhanbad 17 cases were found, 12 in Hazaribagh, 10 each in Lohardaga and Saraikela, 9 each in West Singhbhum and Bokaro, 6 each in Chatra and Giridih, 4 each in Gumla, Jamtara and Pakur, 2 each in Godda and Sahebganj and 1 in Deoghar district were also found during the day.
On Thursday a total of 206 people were cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities in the state including 99 from Garhwa, 29 from East Singhbhum, 22 from Hazaribagh, 17 from Chatra, 15 from Lohardaga, 12 from Ramgarh, 6 from Ranchi, 3 from Khunti, 2 from Deoghar and 1 from Saraikela districts also defeated Coronavirus and returned back to their homes.
The samples are being currently tested in the state at government facilities including MGM Jamshedpur, RIMS Ranchi, PMCH Dhanbad and Itki Arogyashala Ranchi while samples are also being tested in different private labs in the state.
Jharkhand had reported its first Coronavirus case on March 31 as a Malaysian woman had tested positive for Covid-19.
Due to the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has plummeted further to 45.40 percent in Jharkhand.
So far in the state 2,50,455 samples have been collected out of which 2,43,276 have been tested and 2,36,110 have turned out to be negative.
The data further pointed out that the number of travellers under surveillance and asymptomatic was at 5,596 while people who have completed 28 days of compulsory observation stood at 4,333. The number of people in facility quarantine was at 6,347 while those in home quarantine were 2,49,138.
