Court approves ED to interrogate Saddam till April 16, the mastermind of making fake deeds in the land scam related to Hemant Soren

Ranchi:  The process of questioning Mohammad Saddam, the second accused in the land scam case related to former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, will continue. After the remand of Saddam, the mastermind of making fake deeds, ended, on Friday he was produced in the special court of Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) under tight security.

During this, ED’s special public prosecutor Ramit Satyendra sought permission from the court to interrogate Saddam for five days. Which was opposed by the accused’s advocate Sneh Singh.

After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court gave permission to ED to interrogate Saddam till 16 April. Saddam is also an accused in ED case numbers 5/2023 and 1/2023. Central agency ED had recovered more than 36 deeds from him, which were related to different lands.

In the investigation of land scam so far, ED has included Amit Aggarwal, Dilip Ghosh, former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan, Revenue Sub Inspector of Baragain zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad, alleged Rait Pradeep Bagchi, land businessman Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Khan, Talha Khan and Faiyaz Khan has been arrested.

All the accused are currently in judicial custody.
