Coronavirus forces people to celebrate Eid inside homes for second consecutive year

Ranchi: The deadly Coronavirus for the second consecutive year forced the people to celebrate the festival of Eid inside the comfort of their homes in wake of the lockdown imposed due to Covid-19.

Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Hemant Soren also extended their greetings to the people of the state on the occasion.

The Chief Minister had also urged the people to offer the namaz in the comfort of their homes and pray for the well-being of humanity. He urged the people to maintain social distancing but distancing should not be in the hearts of the people.

Meanwhile in wake of the festival elaborate security arrangements had been made in the capital while additional police personnel were also deployed on prominent spots in the city. Even additional police personnel were deployed at religious spots in the city.

The people also offered namaz during the festival in their homes and despite the lockdown, it did not prevent the people to indulge in festivities inside their homes as they treated their families with eid special delicacies of Sewai, Phirni and Biryani.
