Corona blast in MGM Medical Hospital, Jamshedpur as 21 MBBS students including superintendent infected

Jamshedpur: A Corona blast has occurred in the largest medical education institute of Kolhan division of Jharkhand as 21 students studying MBBS at MGM Medical College Hospital located in Jamshedpur have been found positive.

Apart from this, the superintendent of the hospital, Arun Kumar, has also come under the grip of infection.  A large population of the division is dependent on MGM College Hospital for treatment as apart from East Singhbhum, patients from West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan come for treatment at the hospital.  Apart from this, people from the border areas of the neighbouring states of West Bengal and Odisha reach the medical college in the hope of better treatment.

On Monday morning one student of the medical college was found corona positive after Principal KN Singh immediately called a high level meeting.  In this, it was decided to conduct an investigation of all possible students who are vulnerable to infection.  In the investigation, 11 students and 10 girl students were found infected.  After this, the corona test was done on all the students of all the colleges.  Apart from this, all the professors and employees have also been tested.  It was informed by the college administration that all necessary steps are being taken to prevent the spread of infection.  So far 161 samples have been reported.  Treatment has been started for all the students found infected and  students have been kept in separate hostels.
