Godda: Corona blast has taken place in this district as on a single day 334 cases of Coronavirus have been detected among whom 248 were inmates of the divisional jail.
On Tuesday late-night report from PMCH Dhanbad had confirmed 43 cases of Covid-19 while on Wednesday a report from RTPCR Lab Mumbai confirmed 291 cases of Coronavirus. Till Wednesday evening the total number of active cases in Godda district stood at 408. Overall 525 cases of Covid-19 have been found in this district out of which 115 have been cured and discharged while 2 have lost their lives.
After 248 inmates of the divisional jail tested positive they were shifted to an isolation ward in divisional jail. Godda DC Bhor Singh Yadav said that the district administration had made preparations in advance for such a situation. He said that among the fresh cases are also 20 jawans of IRB camp Poriyahaat while Meharma Police Inspector was also among the Covid-19 patients.
Godda Civil Surgeon SP Mishra said that so far in none of the districts so many cases have been detected. He said that efforts are on to make arrangements for bed at the Covid-19 facility located at Siktia where currently there was an arrangement of 100 beds.
