Ranchi: A day after the JMM raised objections over the visit of central leaders of BJP in Jharkhand despite a model code of conduct being into effect due to panchayat polls its ally the Congress party too towed similar lines on Friday.
Party spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad held a press conference related to this matter at the party headquarters during which be said that with the announcement of the Panchayat elections, the model code of conduct is in force in the state.
He said that State President Rajesh Thakur has instructed the workers including the charge, presidents, and conveners of all the districts to follow the election code of conduct. At the same time, the Union Ministers of BJP are visiting districts under the name Paridarshan and they are giving this information to the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the districts which the Congress party believes is a direct violation of the Model Code of Conduct, he said.
He said that the manner in which rural structures were demolished by the BJP government is not hidden from anyone. In its five years, no leader of the double engine government was visible on the land the spokesperson said adding that the situation is more or less the same even today. Now BJP leaders and Union Ministers are influencing the Panchayat elections by visiting the aspirational districts which are specially monitored by the Central Government, he alleged.
During this, the Congress spokesperson also informed about the Congress Party’s dialogue conference program. He said that with this the organizational position of the party is being strengthened. Under the leadership of in-charge Avinash Pandey and state president Rajesh Thakur, a dialogue conference program is to be organized in all the districts of the state on April 18.
In order to make the dialogue program a success, convenors of all the districts have also been appointed in the past. A control room has also been set up at the party headquarters for the same, he informed.
