Congress stages dharna before Raj Bhawan demanding cancellation of JEE and NEET exams

Ranchi: The Congress party on Friday staged demonstrations across the state headquarters demanding that the proposed JEE and NEET examination be cancelled.

In the state capital, the party leaders staged a dharna before the Raj Bhawan during which JPCC Chief and Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon was also present. The party leaders also held ply cards demanding that exams should not be held amid Coronavirus.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Oraon said that these exams should not be held amid the Corona crisis. He said that on a daily basis thousands of cases are being detected therefore under such circumstances the exams should not be held. He said that on the directions of AICC the agitation was being held.

Mr Oraon said that on Wednesday Sonia Gandhi had spoken with the Chief Minister of non-BJP ruled states during which it was decided to stage collective agitation. He said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has advocated the need to cancel the examination in wake off health and future of the students.
