Congress MLA issues of ill treatment at Baba Mandir, Speaker directs government to take action

Ranchi: On the third day of the ongoing Budget Session of the Jharkhand Assembly on Wednesday the issue of mismanagement inside Baba Baidyanath Dham Temple was raised.

The MLAs of the opposition led by the BJP indulged in slogans shouting against the ill-treatment meted out to Barkagaon MLA Amba Prasad at the temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

BJP’s Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan said ill-treatment meted out to the Congress MLA is disrespectful towards all the MLAs of the house. He said that in the last two years no meeting of the Temple Shrine Board has taken despite the Chief Minister being the chairman of the board due to which mismanagement was prevailing in the temple.

Narrating the incident Amba said that she had gone to Deoghar on the occasion of Mahashivratri to pay obeisance at Baba Baidyanath Dham during which she saw mismanagement and lack of amenities. Soon she called the SDO on the spot who refused to come and instead asked her to meet him. She said that neither the officer replied to her greetings nor spoke with her properly moreover she claimed that her private secretary was forcibly taken out from the temple.

The MLA said that the disrespect shown towards her is a matter of concern for the entire Assembly and demanded strict action against the official. On this Speaker, Ravindranath Mahto directed the state government to take action against such officials.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Aalam said that a probe will be conducted and action will be initiated against the guilty.

Meanwhile, a report from Deoghar said that DC Manjunath Bhajantri has ordered a probe into the incident. Deoghar DDC Kumar Tarachand has been given the responsibility of the probe and has been asked to submit his report within 48 hours.
