Congress ministers sit on road during Bharat Bandh, accuse centre of doing away with MSP

Ranchi: Three cabinet ministers led by JPCC chief Dr Rameshwar Oraon sat on demonstrations as part of Bharat Bandh on the streets of the capital which was called over the farmers agitation.

Talking to the press Dr Oraon said that no matter what the BJP and their leaders say over the bandh the truth is before everyone moreover MPs of BJP are not farmers. To a query, he said that the Congress believes in doing its work and is currently working in the favour of the farmers.

He said that Niti Aayog has already said that there was no need for MSP in the country and even the report of Shanta Committee had claimed that BJP government wanted to end MSP. He said that the party will continue its agitation unless the law is withdrawn.

Leader of the legislature wing of Congress Aalamgir Aalam said that the party was standing with the farmers. He said that the Centre had not consulted the states over the Agriculture bills and this black law has been rejected by the farmers organisation. He said that instead of trying to end the agitation BJP was also busy issuing certificates of nationalism. He said that after 70 years for the first time the farmers have come out on the roads and the entire country was with them.

Earlier the Congress workers took out a procession from the party headquarters which travelled through many areas of the state capital and culminated at the Albert Ekka Chowk where leaders sat on a dharna.
