Congress candidate Yashaswini Sahay filed nomination, Subodh Kant Sahay accompanied her

Ranchi:  On behalf of the Grand Alliance, Congress candidate Yashaswini Sahay filed her nomination papers in front of Ranchi DC cum District Election Officer Rahul Kumar Sinha on Monday. During this, Yashaswini Sahay along with her father and former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP Mahua Manji were present. After this, Yashaswini Sahay will address a public meeting at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi.

Before filing nomination, Yashaswini Sahay touched the feet of CM Champai Soren and took blessings at Ranchi Collectorate building. After this she went to file her nomination. Before the nomination procession, at around seven in the morning, Yashaswini Sahay offered prayers at the Kali temple located in Doranda. After this, after worshiping in the Durga temple of Dhurva Sector-3, a nomination procession took place.

The procession reached Birsa Chowk, where Yashaswini garlanded the statue of Lord Birsa Munda. After this, he paid obeisance at Hanuman Temple and Shani Temple in Hinu Chowk. After this, the nomination procession reached Kadru via Doranda AG Mod, Swami Vivekananda Chowk, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Chowk, Risaldar Baba Mazar, Kadru Bridge. Here Yashaswini Sahay visited Mahavir temple.

The procession reached Argora Chowk and the Congress candidate paid obeisance at the Hanuman temple. After this the procession reached Kishoreganj Chowk via Harmu Chowk, Swami Sahajanand Chowk, Kartik Oraon Chowk, Bharat Mata Chowk. Here the Congress candidate had darshan of Mata at Santoshi Mata temple.

After this, the nomination procession reached the Collectorate building via Ratu Road intersection, Zakir Hussain Park. Where Yashaswini Sahay filed her nomination papers in front of former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay and MP Mahua Manjhi. 

A large number of common people including leaders and workers of Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were present in the nomination procession. Lok Sabha elections in Ranchi are to be held in the sixth phase i.e. on May 25. Apart from Ranchi, voting will also be held on Giridih, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur parliamentary seats on the same day.

The nomination process for the sixth phase is going on from April 29, which will continue till tomorrow May 6. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on May 7. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till May 9. Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency consists of 6 assembly constituencies – Ichagarh, Silli, Khijri, Ranchi, Hatia and Kanke.
