Complete the pending MNREGA schemes on time – Secretary Rural Development

Ranchi: Secretary of the Rural Development Department Chandrashekhar said that MNREGA is a multidimensional scheme which is a powerful means of generating employment for the villagers.

Chairing a video conferencing with all the Deputy Development Commissioners of the state he said that it is a priority to successfully land the welfare schemes related to MNREGA on the ground. While reviewing the rejected transactions, he directed to get the reforms done without delay in view of the difficulties faced by the workers working in the schemes operated under MNREGA. He talked about improving the rejected transactions within a week and giving relief to the laborers.

The Secretary said that the Deputy Development Commissioner has an important role in rural development schemes and asked them to focus on completing the target but complaints should not be found. While reviewing the progress of the renovation/ construction of 75 ponds under Amrit Sarovar Yojana, he directed to complete the work on time. Apart from this progress in Rurban Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission and Jal Chhajan were also reviewed.

During the meeting, Secretary Chandrashekhar also directed all the DDCs to make the necessary progress in the creation of man days under MNREGA. He said that by preparing a proper work format in a planned manner, work towards completing all the schemes as soon as possible.

He directed getting 100 percent  Aadhaar seeding of active laborers done under the MNREGA scheme. MNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B, taking information about the pending schemes asked to prepare an action plan and directed all the Deputy Development Commissioners to complete it without delay.

She directed to expedite the completion of Veer Shaheed Poto Ho Khel Vikas Yojana by the local workers in the stipulated time frame. Along with the construction of toilets and changing rooms, instructions were also given to make proper arrangements for water.

Rajeshwari B directed the concerned DDCs to complete the construction work as soon as possible and asked to obtain affidavits every month from all the JCBs operating in their area that their vehicles are not being used for MNREGA works.

The MNREGA commissioner also directed to take action and confiscate under relevant sections if JCB is used in MNREGA works.
