Cold knocks on Durga Puja: Minimum temperature likely to drop from Sunday

Ranchi:  With the official announcement of the Meteorological Department, monsoon has bid farewell to the entire state. After this, cold is going to hit the state during Durga Puja. According to the Meteorological Department, now the wind direction has started coming from the mountains. Gradually the temperature will drop and the cold will increase. 

During puja, people often roam around till late night. In such a situation, the general public is advised to avoid the initial cold. There is no possibility of rain in the coming days. Even if it happens, it will be due to local reasons.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is not going to be any major change in the weather for the next five days. The sky will remain clear till tomorrow i.e. 16th October. After this, there may be partly cloudy sky in the afternoon or evening on 17th and 18th October. Then on October 19, the weather will remain clear and dry. 

There will definitely be a cold wave during Durga Puja but after Vijayadashami, there is a possibility of mercury falling in the state. The temperature will drop between Diwali and Chhath, then it will start getting completely cold.

There have been 104 days of monsoon this year in entire Jharkhand. Seven out of total 24 districts of the state received normal rainfall, while the remaining districts were deficient in rainfall. Monsoon remained normal in East Singhbhum district. Between October 1 and 13, 47 mm rainfall has been recorded here. Monsoon entered the state this year on June 19.
