Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren will hold an important high-level review meeting on May 27 to assess the law and order situation in the state. The meeting will focus on sixteen major issues including illegal infiltration and major criminal incidents. It will be held at the Project Bhavan in Ranchi, where the Chief Minister will be personally accompanied by the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, and the Director General of Police (DGP). Zonal IGs, range DIGs, and all district Deputy Commissioners and Superintendent of Police will participate via video conferencing. The Jharkhand Police Headquarters is currently making preparations for this crucial meeting.
A day prior to the Chief Minister’s review, on May 26, the DGP will conduct a similar meeting with district SPs, focusing on the same sixteen key agendas. The purpose of this meeting is to ensure that no errors or lapses occur during the CM’s review and that all relevant data and reports are updated. Accordingly, district SPs have been instructed to submit detailed reports on these issues to the CID and Special Branch by May 25.
The sixteen key agendas to be reviewed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren include the status of major criminal incidents in the state, the progress of their investigation and arrests, and measures to control cybercrime. The meeting will also discuss steps taken to curb illegal arms trafficking, manufacturing, and usage, as well as actions against illegal infiltration into the state. Crimes against women and atrocities on Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes will be reviewed along with prevention efforts and legal actions. The growing number of land disputes and related law and order challenges will be addressed, along with the effectiveness of measures against mob lynching.
Security arrangements for legislators, parliamentarians, and other important individuals will be evaluated, as will safety protocols for court complexes and judicial officers. Maintaining communal harmony and preventing communal violence, managing caste-related tensions, controlling acid attack cases, and providing assistance to victims will also be discussed. Additionally, the meeting will focus on actions taken to prevent illegal mining, crackdown on illegal lottery operations, and control measures against the manufacture, sale, and smuggling of illicit liquor.
This meeting highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening law and order through coordinated efforts across the state administration.
