Ranchi: In a landmark event, Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the “Health Insurance Scheme for Advocates” under the State Employees Health Insurance Scheme at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Khelgaon, Ranchi. This marks the launch of the country’s first-ever health insurance initiative specifically designed for the state’s esteemed advocates and their dependents, who will also benefit from this plan.
In his address, Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that the government’s efforts aim to reduce the health-related concerns of the state’s lawyers by shouldering their responsibilities. He emphasized the government’s dedication to serving the people of Jharkhand at every moment and every hour, promising continued development in the state.
“The goal is to establish one of the best law universities in the country here in Jharkhand,” said the Chief Minister, highlighting the state’s future plans for enhancing legal education. He assured that the government was formulating a detailed action plan for the establishment of the law university.
Chief Minister Soren also reiterated the government’s commitment to the all-around development of every individual, from children to the elderly, in both urban and rural areas. He acknowledged the state’s struggle with backwardness and assured that the government would continue its efforts to bring Jharkhand out of this status and lead it toward progress.
Expressing gratitude for the public’s trust and support, CM Soren emphasized, “Our every moment, every effort, is dedicated to the people of Jharkhand.” He reassured the public that the government would work tirelessly to meet their expectations and aspirations.
In a reiteration of the government’s focus, CM Soren mentioned that solving the public’s problems remained the administration’s priority. In line with this approach, the health insurance scheme for advocates is a significant step towards addressing the concerns of legal professionals. He assured that the government was continuously working on improving the quality of advocacy in the state.
The Chief Minister also announced the Guruji Credit Card Scheme for providing quality education to students in Jharkhand. This scheme will offer loans up to ₹15 lakh for higher education, with no collateral required, to help students pursue careers as doctors, engineers, lawyers, or journalists. He urged the advocates to benefit from the scheme for their children’s future.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including Ministers Radhakrishna Kishore, Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Dr. Irfan Ansari, Deepika Pandey Singh, Sudivya Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Mahua Maji, MLA Suresh Kumar Baitha, and Senior Officials such as Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Ajay Kumar Singh, Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan, NHM Director Abu Imran, along with respected lawyers from various regions of the state.
