CM Soren calls for unity amid cross-border tension, says national interest above all

Ranchi: Amid rising cross-border tension, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday appealed for restraint and unity, saying the situation involves two nations and should be handled with maturity. Speaking to the media at the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister expressed confidence in the Centre and armed forces, stating that timely and appropriate decisions are already being taken at the national level.

“This is an issue between two countries. The Centre and our armed forces are responding with the seriousness it requires. As citizens, our role is to support every effort made to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the nation,” Soren said.

He acknowledged that people across the country are anxious and emotional in the current climate, but stressed that such situations demand calm and collective resolve.

“You must have seen that the Centre and the Army have been taking concrete actions, step by step. We all must stand firmly behind them to safeguard our national unity,” he added.

CM Soren made it clear that maintaining internal stability and refraining from political point-scoring during such a sensitive time is essential. He assured that Jharkhand will do everything in its capacity to contribute to national solidarity. “This is not the time for commentary or criticism. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to uphold the spirit of national unity,” he said.
