CM inaugurates cycle rally as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, himself rides bicycle

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday inaugurated the cycle rally which was organised by the Sports Directorate as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav during which he himself rode a bicycle.

Speaking on the occasion he said that many brave sons laid down their lives for the sake of Independence of the nation and the democracy of the nation is the result of the sacrifice of these great martyrs.

He said that to establish democracy in the country Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Lal Bahadur Shashtri, Bhagat Singh, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Sidho-Kanhu, Veer Budhu Bhagat and many great men made their contributions and on this day he bows down his head to every one of them.

He said that Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav is an event that is a symbol of inspiration and energy for the youth. He also extended his greetings to the people.

The cycle rally which was organized on the occasion started from Chief Minister located at Kanke Road and travelled via Kanke Road, Ranchi College, Karamtoli Chowk and finally ended at the Audrey House.

Those present on the occasion also included Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh, Sports Secretary Pooja Singhal and others.
