Ranchi: JMM has strongly retaliated on the statements of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The party said that Himanta and BJP do not love the tribals.
If there was love, the Prime Minister would have been sitting and a tribal President would not have been standing.
“ If BJP had love for tribals and Dalits, then a Dalit President would not have been kept away from the program at the time of laying the foundation stone of the Parliament House and a tribal President at the time of the inauguration of the Parliament House”.
“ If Himanta loves the tribals so much, then the BJP, which has been in power in Assam for a long time, should give ST status to the tribals of Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Bengal who have been living in Assam for years. While they speak Santhali, Mundari, Ho, Sadri and local languages, they have been residing there for years.That’s why Himanta ji does not love the tribals, he is only irritated with Hemant”.
The above things were said by the party’s Central General Secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya during a press conference organized in the party office.
