CM Hemant Soren gives sanction order for prosecution against BDO accused of corruption

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given the order to register a case under Section 406/409/419/420/34 of the Indian Penal Code 1880 against the accused Arjun Ram, the then Block Development Officer, Balumath District Latehar, in case number 09/2016 dated 06.07.2016 under Latehar District.

A sanction order for prosecution has been given under this. Case number – 99/2016 has been registered against the accused at Balumath police station under Latehar district. In the course of the investigation against the accused, it has come to light that the order for the supply of toilet material, smokeless stove and planning board under Indira Awas Yojana was given by the accused to A.K. without any tender and quotation.

A payment of Rs 41, 69,880 was made against the said supply, which is a gross violation of the government provision. Thus, Arjun Ram, the then Block Development Officer, Balumath, is accused of misuse of government position, criminal conspiracy, fraud and embezzlement of government funds by committing financial irregularities as part of a well-planned conspiracy in violation of procedures.
