Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren honoured 24 police officers of the newly promoted State Police Service in the Indian Police Service (IPS) with badges at the piping ceremony organized at the Project Bhavan in Ranchi on Monday.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that is a golden opportunity and a historic moment for the officers of the State Police Service, when 24 officers of the Jharkhand Police Service have been promoted to the Indian Police Service.
The Chief Minister said that several times during the file movement in the department, the officials that the file related to the promotion of the State Police Service was moving up and down like a snake-ladder.
The executive is doing its work as per the rules and regulations, but the file related to promotion is not progressing at a fast pace.
That’s why I expressed concern and said that how many times should I sign in the file related to promotion?
He said, I was curious as to when the promotion would be available, the state government worked on it seriously, finally today the happy moment of promotion came among us and the dream of 24 State Police Service officers getting promoted in the Indian Police Service (IPS) has been fulfilled.
He added, I send hearty congratulations and best wishes to all these newly promoted Indian Police Service officers and their families.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that for the first time in the history of Jharkhand, this moment has come when such a large number of State Police Service officers are getting promoted to the Indian Police Service.
The Chief Minister said that out of 24 officers promoted in the Indian Police Service, two such women officers are Sarojini Lakda and Amelda Ekka, who have come a long way from mere constables to become IPS officers.
The journey of these two women IPS officers will prove to be an inspiration and a milestone for the state police personnel.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that about 158 IPS posts have been fixed in the state, out of which 110 posts are recruited directly from UPSC, while on 48 posts, officers of the State Police Service are promoted and join the IPS service.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that I have full faith that the newly promoted 24 IPS officers, who are getting the state today, will help in strengthening law and order maintenance in Jharkhand as well as filling the shortage of officers in the police department to some extent.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that from the very beginning, our government has worked to give rights and entitlements to various service personnel and officials in the state.
The Chief Minister said that in many cadres, people retired while working as in-charges and the files related to their promotions remained stuck.
The Chief Minister said that our government has done the work of solving the problems related to promotion.
Now the state government employees have started getting promotions as per the rules.
The Chief Minister asked the officers of the newly promoted Indian Police Service to discharge their responsibilities fearlessly in their field of work.
The state government will take full care of the honour and rights of the general public of Jharkhand as well as the officers of the government.
The Chief Minister said that our government has given the gift of old pension to the government employees.
There are some government employees in our state who are now on the verge of retirement and they are looking very happy and eager because they know that the state government will now give them the benefit of old pension, which will help the retired employees throughout their life in the form of old age stick.
Among the newly promoted Indian Police Service officers who were honoured with badges by the Chief Minister Hemant Soren are Sarojini Lakda, Emelda Ekka, Sadiq Anwar Rizvi, Arvind Kumar Singh, Vikas Kumar Pandey and Vijay Ashish Kujur (all 2017 batch), Deepak Kumar Sharma, Rajkumar Mehta, Shambhu Kumar Singh, Ajay Kumar Sinha, Anudeep Singh, Pujya Prakash, Sahdev Saw, Amit Kumar Singh, Ajit Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Deepak Kumar Pandey and Animesh Naithani (all Batch 2019), Ajay Kumar-I, Arif Ekram, Dr. Vimal Kumar, Manish Toppo, Kailash Karmali and Pitambar Singh Kherwar (all Batch 2020).
State Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department Avinash Kumar, DGP Ajay Kumar Singh, Director General of Police (CID) Anurag Gupta, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey and other senior officers of Indian Police Service and family members of newly promoted 24 Indian Police Service officers were present on the occasion.
