Ranchi – The Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government celebrated its first year in office on Friday with a large-scale ceremony at Morabadi Ground, Ranchi, during which the Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 8,792 newly selected government employees.
The recruitment covered a wide array of positions including Sub-Divisional Magistrates, DSPs, prison superintendents, Jharkhand Education Service officials, labour and district superintendents, probation officers, inspectors, dentists, assistant professors, and entomologists.
CM Soren described the day as historic, marking both the first anniversary of his government and 25 years since Jharkhand’s formation. He highlighted the administration’s record recruitment drive, citing that almost 16,000 government jobs were filled in 2024, with nearly 9,000 appointment letters distributed this year alone.
He added that more than 8,000 youths obtained private-sector employment this year, and between 2020–2024, the state created roughly 24,000–25,000 government jobs and about 28,000 opportunities in the private sector.
Praising the turnout of young recruits, Soren said it reflected growing public confidence in transparent hiring practices. Remembering the late Shibu Soren, he called him a guiding force behind Jharkhand’s statehood movement. He also accused the opposition of attempting to disrupt recruitment efforts, while stressing that the process remained fair and corruption-free.
The Chief Minister noted the significant participation of women among the appointees and urged all new officers to actively support the state’s development and mentor youth in their districts. Several ministers and elected officials attended, including Radha Krishna Kishore, Irfan Ansari, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Sanjay Prasad, Deepika Pandey Singh, Hafizul Ansari, Chamra Linda, Deepak Birua, MP Mahua Maji, and MLA Kalpana Soren.
