CM directs officials to make sure that pension amount is paid by 5th of every month

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday directed that the pension amount should be compulsorily credited by the 5th of every month in the account of all the pensioner beneficiaries covered under the social security scheme. Chairing a review meeting of the women, child development and social security department he said that the information about the credit of pension amount should also be given to the beneficiaries through SMS.

He further said that there is a rule to constitute a subcommittee under the Panchayati Raj Act and PESA Act in all the panchayats, in the light of that a committee should be constituted at the panchayat level and other traditional leaders like Manki, Mukhiya, Pradhan etc should be included in the sub-committee formed.

He said that this committee should meet twice a month to verify the small matters related to the villagers like birth certificates, death certificates, caste certificates, etc. Further, This committee should identify and recommend such eligible people who are deprived of the benefits of various schemes of the government and play their role in providing the benefits of the schemes, he instructed.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the officers to work to connect those people who are eligible to get an old-age pension, but due to some reason, they are deprived of the benefits of old age pension, by running a campaign. He directed the officials to cover the identified eligible beneficiaries by giving them the benefits of various social security pension schemes. In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that if there is a shortage of doctors for disability check-ups, then a meeting should be held with IMA and a disability checkup camp should be organised with the help of private doctors.

Hemant Soren said that under the summer scheme run by the department, the malnourished children should be identified and their families should be provided the benefits of various ambitious schemes of the government. He said that the goal of malnutrition-free Jharkhand is the priority of the government. He asked the officials to identify the children suffering from malnutrition by running a campaign and give them the benefits of government schemes.

The Chief Minister said that in the number of families surveyed so far, very few families with malnourished children were found. Expressing concern over this, the Chief Minister said that whether the survey work is being done properly or not, the department should review it.

In the meeting, it was informed before the Chief Minister that 20 percent of the Anganwadi centers operating in the state do not have their own building. The Chief Minister directed the officers that the construction work of Anganwadi centers should be done as a campaign and also ensure that all necessary facilities like storeroom, kitchen, toilet etc are arranged in the Anganwadi centers being built by the department.

In the meeting, updated information about the work being done under Mukhyamantri Sukanya Yojana on women empowerment, emphasis on girl child education and ending child marriage practice was kept before the Chief Minister. Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the officers that the department should make a new scheme with the aim to end the practice of child marriage and encourage women empowerment and girl child education.

Under the new scheme, he said that work should be done to benefit all adolescent girls from 13 years to 19 years through DBT. The Chief Minister directed that the department should make a presentation by preparing a new scheme for providing sanitary napkins to teenage girls and women. Mainly in the meeting, implementation of 5 pension schemes under Sarvajan Pension Yojana, district wise update status of payment under centrally sponsored schemes in the financial year 2021-22, report on a special campaign for making disability certificates, summer campaign progress report and many others important points were also discussed in detail.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Women, Child Development and Social Security Joba Manjhi, Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Principal Secretary, Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security Avinash Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey and others.
