CM directs not to construct high rise buildings near Vidhansabha premises

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the officials to make sure that no highrise buildings are constructed near the Vidhansabha premises.

Chairing the 27th meeting of the Board of Directors of Greater Ranchi Development Authority (GRDA) he said that there should be uniformity in the homes to be constructed for the cabinet ministers and senior officials and design for these houses should be prepared in consultation with the Chief Secretary and quality of work should be maintained. He also asked the officials to submit a report on the utility of the old houses which will become vacant.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to take necessary steps for the rehabilitation of the displaced. He said that since the houses are ready therefore the displaced people should be shifted in them however caution should be adopted in selecting the families.

MD of GRDA Vinay Kumar Choubey said that houses to be constructed for the ministers, MLAs and senior officials will not be above G plus 2. He said that for the displaced new houses have been constructed and all these houses are spread over an area of 2700 square feet. However other proposed works have not been started and only after the appointment of consultant plans will be framed for undertaking the necessary construction. He also informed the Chief Minister regarding the proposed water park to be constructed on area of 149 acres.

The Chief Minister was informed that for the use of common people land will be auctioned from which an income of Rs 1500 crore is expected and all these lands are away from the Vidhansabha.

The Chief Minister was informed that for IT parkland has been allotted and land has been allocated to 32 organisations and some of the institutions have also commenced construction work and work on the building of IIM was also on.
