CM approves proposal to prosecute Krishna Bihari Ram the then Executive Engineer, NREP, Latehar for corruption

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren is continuously giving orders to take action in cases registered against corrupt officials under zero tolerance policy against corruption.

In this connection, approval has been granted to the proposal to prosecute the accused officer Krishna Bihari Ram, the then Executive Engineer, NREP, Latehar of financial irregularities in the MNREGA scheme. An FIR was lodged against him on August 12, 2010 at Manika police station in Latehar district.

During the investigation of the FIR registered on 12 August 2010 at Manika police station in Latehar district Krishna Bihari Ram, the then Executive Engineer, made illegal withdrawal of funds in the estimated amount of Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme 162/ 2007-08. In such a case, the accused have been accused of embezzlement of government funds by misusing official position, criminal conspiracy, cheating and committing financial irregularities under conspiracy in a planned manner in violation of procedures.

In the above case, in the light of the application of the plaintiff Shravan Sai, Project Officer, Latehar, formal FIR, case diary, statements of witnesses and observations of observation, a case is made out for sanction of prosecution under the Indian Penal Code against the primary accused.
