CM applauds MoU between urban development dept & IHCL to open Taj Hotel

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren outlined his vision for establishing a new system in Jharkhand, aimed at giving the state a new identity through collective participation. He emphasized improving the utilization of internal resources and nurturing local talent to pave the way for a new dimension of development in the state.

Addressing a programme at the Jharkhand Secretariat, where an MoU was signed between the Urban Development & Housing Department and the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) for the construction of a Taj Hotel, he described the occasion as historic and promising. He expressed optimism that the Taj Hotel would boost tourism development and enhance Jharkhand’s global profile.

The Chief Minister said that while Jharkhand is renowned for its mineral resources, it is also rich in other resources that can drive its progress. He said that past policies may not have fully leveraged these resources, but the current government is working diligently to provide new direction and achieve encouraging results. He also addressed the issue of migration due to employment needs, stating that better policies related to employment could reduce the need for young people to migrate for better opportunities.

The government is committed to providing job opportunities within the state. Soren emphasized the importance of adopting best practices from other states and countries. He shared that his experiences from visiting other regions often provide valuable insights that can benefit Jharkhand’s governance and progress.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the longstanding relationship between Jharkhand and the Tata Group, which has played a significant role in the state’s development over the past century. He expressed confidence that strengthening this relationship would benefit both the state and its people, and assured that the Tata Group is committed to prioritizing the state’s interests. The government is prepared to work closely with the Tata Group, which has established several units in the state, providing employment to thousands.

The Chief Minister is hopeful that this collaboration will help Jharkhand emerge as a leading state. He also emphasized Jharkhand’s crucial role in the nation’s advancement, noting that the state’s progress directly impacts the country’s economy. The government is dedicated to contributing to national development alongside other stakeholders.

Chief Minister also highlighted the successful hosting of several international sports events in Jharkhand, despite limited resources. He anticipates that the establishment of the Taj Hotel will further enhance facilities for participants in future events.
