City is decked up with groups of fragrant flowers come to Ranchi from Thailand, Denmark, Kolkata and Bangalore

Ranchi: On the occasion of Diwali, more and more bouquets have started being decorated in the flower shops of the capital. The entire atmosphere is becoming fragrant with clusters of red, yellow, blue, white flowers of rose, marigold, lily, tuberose and other varieties. There is a flower shop on the main road in front of Mallah Toli since 1942.

Director Suraj Kumar Malakar said that his father Ram Ratan Malakar had started this shop. Today, I am taking care of it after my father. Suraj Kumar Malakar of Shaheed Chowk said that his father Ramswaroop Malakar had started this flower shop 50 years ago. At that time it started in a very small form.

Currently, a group of flowers has been collected from Thailand, Denmark, Raipur, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Jharkhand on the occasion of Diwali. Manoj Malakar of Kachari has been running a flower shop for the last 30 years. In view of the good demand for flowers on the occasion of Diwali, a large group of flowers has been collected. Here, along with retail, flowers are also made available to the customers at low rates for business.

All three flower operators said that the rates of flowers for Diwali this year are less as compared to last year. Explaining the reason for this, he said that there was a lot of rain last year, due to which the flower crops were not prepared well. A large amount of flower cultivation was ruined due to heavy rains. But this time due to less rain, flowers have been produced in good quantity. Due to which the rate of flowers is less than last year.

All three operators told that they go to decorate puja pandals, weddings, and programs of ministers, governors and government officials after getting orders. Flowers are also used to decorate homes, shops and offices. Also, in weddings the car is decorated for Rs 1000 to Rs 1.50 lakh.

As per the customer’s demand for flowers, decorations can be done for an even higher amount. The operators also said that the flower business is a crude business. Therefore the risk of damage is high. There are only two days of market in Diwali, there may be fluctuations in prices further also. There is a possibility of some such rate increase during the time of Diwali.
