Ranchi: The arrest of a child trafficking gang and the safe rescue of more than a dozen missing children in Jharkhand has highlighted the alertness, professionalism, and humane approach of the Jharkhand Police. The operation, which led to the recovery of children such as Ansh–Anshika and Kanhaiya Kumar, has brought relief to affected families and reinforced public trust in the state’s policing system.
Acknowledging this achievement, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Alok Kumar Dubey and Chief Spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo met DGP Tadasa Mishra and SSP Rakesh Ranjan to personally congratulate them and the entire police force. The leaders said the operation proved that the Jharkhand Police is fully dedicated to its responsibilities and to protecting vulnerable children.
DGP Tadasa Mishra stated that ensuring law and order is a shared responsibility and reaffirmed that child safety remains a top priority for the police. She assured that decisive action against organised criminal networks would continue in the future. SSP Rakesh Ranjan also appreciated the cooperation and support extended by the public during the investigation.
Alok Kumar Dubey criticised attempts to portray the recovery of the children as the outcome of political movements or pressure. He said such claims are unjustified and detract from the hard work of the police. According to him, the success was the result of consistent, professional, and compassionate policing, and it should be recognised as such to strengthen police morale. He stressed that sensitive issues involving children should never be politicised.
Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that safeguarding children requires responsibility and empathy, not political point-scoring. He added that the Jharkhand Police has once again demonstrated its firm resolve to act against crimes involving children and will continue to do so.
The Congress leaders also expressed strong objection to statements linking the recovery of children to political agitation. They said remarks made by BJP state president and MP Aditya Sahu were unfortunate and demoralising for police personnel who worked day and night to ensure the children’s safe return to their families.
Those present in the delegation included social worker Pramod Yadav, Mahangar Kali Puja Committee president Vinay Kumar Singh, Ajit Kumar, Congress leader Mehul Dubey, Mohammad Azhar, Diksha Kumari, and Nitik Gupta.
