Chief Secretary directs officials to admit children of convicts in residential schools

 

Ranchi, Jul 6: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma has directed to admit the children into school whose parents/guardians are lodged in jail as undertrails or are serving their imprisonment.

 

Reviewing the functioning of the Home and the Prison Department along with the Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Ltd she directed to conduct profiling of such children and ensure that the children are admitted in residential schools or in Gurukul Vidyalays.

 

She directed that all the hardcore criminals and hardcore Maoists be presented before the court via video conferencing and said that till the digitisation work at the courts is completed till than the trial of the prisoners be done through video calling.

 

She directed to make the arrangements of video calling at all the jails and teh courts located in 24 districts of the state. Ms Verma also directed that the prisoners lodged in various jails be shifted to the central jails of the state. It was decided that equipments which can detect presence of mobiles in jails would be purchased.

 

The Chief Secretary said that payment to the home guards be paid by DBT and also ensure that all are allotted jobs. She directed that in all the Kasturba Schools two female home gaurds be posted and coordination held with banks and colleges to deploy the home guard jawams. She said that work to the homeguards be done online.

Reviewing the functioning of the Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Ltd she directed to speed up work in Dumka, Palamu, Chaibasa, Saraikela in construction of police line. She directed to speed up the selection of PMC and prepare the DPR. She also instructed to make sure that facilites of sports are present in the police line.
