Chief Minister to seek trust vote on Sept 5 in Special Session of Assembly

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren will seek a vote of trust on Monday to prove the strength of his government in a special one-day session which is an extension of the Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Assembly.

According to a notification issued by the Vidhansabha Secretariat in the special one-day session, the Chief Minister will seek a vote of trust in the house. Chief Minister Soren is facing an office-of-profit case related to allotting a stone mine lease in his name while in office and the Election Commission has allegedly given its report to Governor Ramesh Bais who is yet to disclose his recommendation on the matter.

It is expected that in the session the state government can also take decisions related to the domicile policy in which the Khatiyaan of 1932 year can be set as the base for declaring the domicile policy.

The state government has already canceled the domicile policy which was made by the Raghubar Das government of the state. Apart from that, the ambit of OBC reservation is also likely to be increased in Jharkhand.
