Chief Minister Hemant Soren hold a high-level meeting with officials regarding preparations for the two-day Jharkhand Tribal Festival to be held on August 9-10 on the occasion of World Tribal Day

Ranchi: Preparations for the two-day Jharkhand Tribal Festival On the occasion of World Tribal Day to be held in the capital Ranchi on August 9-10, 2023, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, holded a meeting with the officials of the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department, said that this festival should be organized in such a way that through this tribal art-culture, lifestyle, food, dress and language can be recognized in the world stage.

The Chief Minister said various programs will be organized in the Jharkhand Tribal Festival.

Through these programmes, arrangements should also be made for the documentation of the state.

CM Said, “There would be a presentation of the changes that have taken place since the history of the tribal communities here.”

The Chief Minister said the Jharkhand Tribal Festival is not just an event.

This is the identity of our rich tribal culture.

This identity should also be “recognized” outside the state.

For this, ensure publicity at airports, railway stations, bus stations and other important public places in big cities of the country along with other districts of the state including capital Ranchi.

For this, selfie points should be made at various places.

A glimpse of the tribal culture of Jharkhand should be visible in the selfie point.

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand Tribal Festival will be the main event in the capital Ranchi.

At the same time, tribal festival programs will be organized in all the districts as well.

In these programmes, there should also be a system to inform people about the welfare schemes run by the government.

All the programs in Jharkhand Tribal Festival will be organized in these three categories –

Seminar, Panel Discussion, Tribal Film Festival, Tribal Foods Festival and Painting Exhibition will be organized by Tribal Research Institute.

Renowned tribal litterateurs, expert historians will be included in this.

Under the cultural program, there will be programs of song, dance, and instrumental performance, national and international bands.

Tribal artists from different states will perform in these programmes.

Apart from this, youth icons will also be invited.

There will be competitions in hockey, football, athletics and archery in this festival.

The winners of the competitions will be awarded with cash prize money.

Tribal celebrities will also be invited to the festival.

Among these, Femina Miss India Riya Tirkey, Queen of International Tourism Angel Marina Tirkey, international boxer Mary Kom, former international hockey player and Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey and international archer Komalika Bari will be invited.

Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary Rajeev Arun Ekka, and Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha, Tribal Welfare Commissioner Lokesh Mishra, Additional Secretary Ajay Nath Jha and Director of TRI Ranendra Kumar were present on the occasion.
