Change in winds brings respite from cold, minimum temperature to move up

Ranchi: People battling nip and chill breathed a sigh of relief on Wednesday as the day turned out to be a bit warmer compared to the previous days.

As per the words of the Ranchi MET department for the next two days the minimum temperature in Ranchi is likely to increase by two degree celsius as a result of which the minimum temperature will remain around 9 degrees.

Scientist at the Ranchi MET office Abhishek Anand on Wednesday said that the warmth in the weather is due to the change in the directions of the winds. He said that earlier winds were coming from Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal but now due to a western disturbance being formed in Himachal Pradesh the winds are coming from Arabian sea due to which some changes in the temperature has been noted.

He said that due to bright sunshine people will get relief from nip and chill but evenings would remain the same as previous days. He said that the maximum temperature is likely to remain around 24 degrees.

The weather man has said that till December 26 warmth will remain in the weather however after that the winds coming from the North will once again grip the state. On Thursday apart from Ranchi the weather department has also predicted a rise in the minimum temperature in Bokaro, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad districts by one or two degrees.
